Exercise 5: Social Networking - Facebook

Facebook is designed for people to connect and interact with each others. Facebook members can create  personal profiles with information and photos about themselves, add friends and send them messages, join a group or social cause and add applications to their profile.

I think it is a good idea for a library to participate on a social networking site – Facebook:

n  Using facebook to promote and advertise the library and the library events.

n  Through sharing information and photos on Facebook, patrons also could get information and feeling timely without physically go to attend some events at the library.

n  Utilising Facebook to promote the library presence in the community and the services, help patrons to become information-literate and getting more involved with the library.
