Exercise 9: Community Profiles - Epping


My local council is Hornsby Shire Council, and it has 5 libraries: Hornsby Central library, Epping, Pennant Hills, Berowra and Galston branch libraries.  My local library is Epping branch library.
Community Profile --Epping
Epping is bounded generally by Hills (M2) Motorway in the north, Terrys Creek in the east, Ball Avenue, the railway line and Carlingford Road in the south and the suburb of Carlingford in the west.
·          The Census population of Epping in 2011 was 14,006(excluding O/S visitors): 47.5%Australian born, 50% Speaks a language other than English at home, and 0.3% Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander population.

·          45% of people in Epping come from countries where English is not the first language in 2011: 13.5% from China, 6.5% from South Korea, 5.9% from Hong Kong, 4.6% from India, 2.5% from UK.

·          5,217 people in Epping have a tertiary qualification in 2006: 35.9% Bachelor Higher degree, 10.3% Advanced Diploma or Diploma, and 10.1% Vocational.

·          There are more professionals in Epping than any other occupation in 2006: 12.9% Managers, 37.2% Professionals, 8.6% Technicians and Trades workers,  6.7% Community and Personal Service Workers, 15.9% Clerical and Administrative Workers.

·          In 2011, 41% of households in Epping are made up of couples with children.
